Maggie May
We trapped her, brought her to the sanctuary placed her in our secure unit for 10 days with plenty of food, water and TLC. During the 10 days we noticed that she knew how to use a litter tray and would eat her food like a domestic cat. We reached the conclusion that no way could she be a feral or pregnant. After 5 days we took her to the vet who gave her a full check up, wormed her and reckoned her age to be about 8 - 9 years old because of the ease of handling confirmed she was a domestic gone wild. After 10 days we opened the cage door and let her out to our delight she stayed around and has now become part of the scenery. She has her own spot in the sun and a warm place to sleep with plenty of food.
We have noticed a lump developing under her chin which the vet examined and diagnosed a possible tumour. The vet is treating her with antibiotics to help nature heal her and make her last days more relaxed and happy. We will keep you informed of her progress. |
